About Your Hosts:

Eric Ferguson

Eric Ferguson is an entrepreneurial, apostolic leader with a passion to serve people and expand the Kingdom of God. He has over 20 years of experience starting ministries and businesses, including churches, schools, numerous micro-businesses, discipleship homes, a coffee shop, a coffee company, a mission’s organization, a coaching/training company, and most recently a fitness company.

Eric presently serves as the president of Metanoia Missions International, the Joybean Coffee Co., 3 Arrows Enterprises and FergFit. He is also the campus pastor of Bridge Church Greenbrier in Chesapeake, Virginia. He holds a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling, as well as a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Leadership.

He is a sought after international speaker, who ministers with a prophetic edge. He is also the author of six books. Eric’s philosophy is to enjoy life, impart life to others, and help people live richer, fuller lives.

   

Shanna Ferguson

Shanna Ferguson is a fifth-generation missionary and third-generation pastor.

She started her career as a pediatric nurse, but decided to join her husband in full-time ministry and mission work.

Shanna is a strong, yet reserved leader, who speaks volumes of wisdom as she draws from her ministry experience and years of being raised on the mission field.

Whether it is through counseling, mentoring, or teaching, Shanna has a gift of walking people through challenging circumstances and helping them discover sound, life-giving solutions.

Studies have shown that small business owners and entrepreneurs are more likely to suffer from mental health issues because of the pressures we put on ourselves to succeed, and due to the fact that we are often alone, or carrying the brunt of the work load for our business. Iron Sharpens Iron is a time dedicated to, and focused on, the small business owner and entrepreneur. It’s a time of encouragement, a time of challenging, and a time of refreshing. Because of the retreats format and limited group size, attendees will have ample time available to work on their desired focus areas with other members of the group and draw from other’s strengths and knowledge. 5-Fold

November 3 - 6, 2021

Our 5-Fold retreat is specifically designed for ministry leaders. Unless one is in full-time ministry, they would not understand the demands that are placed on ministers. Research shows that the negative effect of ministry on ministers is overwhelming and often detrimental to a minister’s overall wellbeing.

Statistics regarding ministers: 

• 75 % report being “extremely stressed.” 
• 90 % work between 55 to 75 hours per week.
• 70 % say they are grossly underpaid.
• 80 % will not be in ministry 10 years from now.
• 91 % have experienced some sort of burnout in ministry.
• 70 % constantly fight depression.
• 41 % have anger problems in marriage.
• 70 % do not have someone they consider a close friend.
• 44 % do not have a regular day off.

We do not want ministers to do life alone. We have designed the 5-Fold retreat to be a time where like-minded ministry leaders come together to receive encouragement, to receive healing, and to be challenged to break old paradigms that could possibly be overwhelming them and hindering them from walking in joy and freedom. Common themes discussed in the 5-Fold retreat are boundaries, a minister’s heart, the Father’s Love, and the essence of leadership.

Upcoming Women’s Retreat

October 17 -20, 2021

For years we have hosted retreats for men all over the United States and in Nicaragua, but this will be our first retreat for women. We are so excited about the opportunity to bring women from all walks of life together for a time of refreshing, encouragement, and empowerment. Participants will participate in prayer, worship, Bible study, teachings and facilitated discussions, which are all geared to renew the mind, body, and spirit. Being the first of many more women’s retreats to come, we believe it’s going to set an amazing precedent for future events.
